Some of those products will be priced at least 20% below their levels from last year. Bedding is also getting cheaper. Target is refreshing its bedding assortment with prices averaging 15% lower compared to a year ago. “Guests are looking for great products at an incredible value, and that’s an important part of what we aim to deliver every day,” Target chief merchandising officer Cara Sylvester said. The retailer said the nearly 2,000 new reductions build on price cuts covering more than 10,000 products over the past year.
Target previously announced cuts to more than 3,000 products in March. The lower prices will also stack alongside Target’s regular pricing and weekly promotions, giving shoppers additional opportunities to save as the holiday shopping season approaches. Target’s latest reductions arrive after the company raised its annual forecast in August following its third consecutive quarter of stronger-than-expected results. The company has been working to revive growth under CEO Michael Fiddelke.
